Heeding the call of poker players in the Hong Kong/Macau area, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) has announced its first-ever APT Ironmonger Poker Challenge.
Established in conjunction with Ironmonger Events Limited (IME), the tournament will be open exclusively to Hong Kong and Macau residents over eighteen years of age. It will be held at 10:00 AM on December 6, 2008. The venue will be at Level 11 of the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino, home of the Tour’s APT Macau event.
Buy-in is set at HK $5,500 (HK $5,000 + HK $500) with a prize pool set to go as high as HK $650,000. Players should register as soon as possible, though, because the maximum number of players is set at 130.
The APT Ironmonger Poker Challenge comes months after the APT Macau 2008 event, which was won by poker pro Yevgeniy Timoshenko. Some of the biggest names in poker, including Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, and JC Tran, participated in the tournament.
The APT’s next main event will be held in Manila. APT Philippines 2009 will be held at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel in Makati, Philippines, from January 27 to February 1, 2009. Buy-in is set at USD $2,700.
Interested parties may call Ironmonger Events at +852 2973 0372 or e-mail them at info@ironmongerevents.com. More information on the APT may be found on its official web site at www.asianpt.com.
